My roots run deep in the heart of Georgia. At the age of six, my parents made the bold decision to relocate our family to a quaint town just south of our previous home. It was a leap of faith, as they embarked on this journey without a clear plan. Through the grace of God, my father secured employment shortly after our arrival, while my mother dedicated herself to raising us children and providing childcare for others in the community.
Like most children growing up, there was adversity. Despite the challenges, my parents instilled in us values of discipline and love. Whether in church pews or amidst sibling squabbles, a simple glance from our father was all it took to steer us back on course. Our days were filled with adventures - hunting, fishing, camping, and building forts in the woods.
Growing up as the eldest of six children, with two older brothers, two younger brothers, and a sister, taught me the importance of responsibility and leadership from an early age. Despite my initial shyness, I eventually found my place among peers, forging lifelong friendships through shared experiences of sports, sleepovers, and teenage pursuits.
In a small town, everyone knows everyone else's business, which taught me accountability and integrity. These lessons became the foundation of my upbringing, influencing my decision to raise my own children in the same close-knit community. Marrying my best friend, a man of remarkable empathy and kindness, was the beginning of a journey filled with love and shared values.
After my youngest son started school, I joined the local Police Department, fulfilling my passion for serving and giving back to the community that had nurtured me. Guided by the same mentors who had shaped my own path, I found fulfillment in guiding the next generation towards their own potential. Life took a bittersweet turn when my husband fell ill, reminding us of life's fragility. Despite the pain of loss, I found solace in my growing family, cherishing moments with my grandchildren who hold my heart in their tiny hands. While my days of roughhousing with the boys have transformed into cheering on the Bulldogs and leisurely rides on golf carts, I still find joy in pampering the girls with hair, nails, and
makeup sessions.
Now settled in Liberty County with my beloved Ronnie, I embrace the tranquility of country living, eagerly anticipating the next chapter of my life's adventure. With a heart full of gratitude, I look forward to continuing to serve my neighbors, my community, my friends, and my faith.
